Extaordinary Amazing Day of Good Deeds!

Thank you a million times to all who participated in the Day of Good deeds! We raised an extraordinary amount of donations!  You are all so giving!!!!!!!  I know that all of our recipients are feeling happy about the generous and superb quality of your gifts.  We had so many donations that we had to resource some other places that could accept them.  Today I dropped off the last of everything at the Humane League and the Council of churches who were both astounded with the generosity of you all. I visited some of the animals waiting for adoption and I hoped for a home for all of them this holiday season.  If you are considering getting a dog or cat, or rabbit, please take a look at all of the sad faces out there!  So many cats and dogs have been turned in by their families……..????? I guess I just don’t understand that one.

Back to the Day of good deeds, we all had a fun time socializing afterwards.  I really feel that all of you have tremendously loving hearts.  You were willing to give your time, your belongings, your day and your love to others that will feel happier this season because of you.

Now I have one more thing to ask .  This year SMILE and give someone love.  You can talk to the other people in line at the grocery store, you can say” Hi” to the people you pass on the street, you can help by simply smiling.  You can LISTEN really well when someone is talking and allow them to feel that someone finally heard them.  You can hug a dog or pet a cat.  You can leave a little extra food outside of your door incase someone who is hurt and hungry is passing by. Which leads me into another story.  My dog, Puppy ,has the most uncanny knack for finding animals in need.  He found a stray cat the other day.  The tiny cat was walking on 3 legs because the other leg had been bandaged, and not cared for so it was swollen many times it’s natural size, and the raw bone was exposed.  We took the cat to the vet, but unfortunately the poor cat had to be euthanized because of a rare blood disease.  That cat purred and put out her little paw as they were giving her the shot that ended her imprisonment in that sickly body.  I held her paw and cried my eyes out, but I knew that she was no longer going to be in pain and out in the cold.  We would have, without question spent our Christmas money helping that cat if we could have.  I know that there are always stray animals passing by in the night.  Next time you are going to throw out those left overs, think about those who may be out there in the cold and put out a little plate.  Some day, somewhere, someone will thank you.  I love YOU…. Marjorie
